As senior members of the school, Sixth Formers are encouraged to take an active part in the life of BSG. There are many opportunities to develop leadership and team working skills. This may be as a House Prefect, a Form Prefect to junior pupils, a leader of a club or society, a member of a music or sports group, a PA to your form tutor or perhaps even as Head Girl or House Captain.
The House system gives students at BSG a real sense of community and belonging and the opportunity to take on new responsibilities. Every Sixth Form student belongs to one of six Houses. The House system provides many opportunities for students to work with younger pupils in the school, as well as to organise and support a range of House activities and events.
There is a real emphasis on making a commitment to the wider community whether through Work in the Community opportunities, taking part in National Citizen Service, helping with our Christmas Old Age Pensioners Party, or volunteering as part of Duke of Edinburgh and the Lions Club award schemes.
