It was great to see so many prospective sixth form students at our recent open evening when there was the chance to hear about the fantastic offer we have in the sixth form together with the opportunity to find out more about the subjects available. If you missed the evening don't worry! On receipt of your application form we will invite you to come to a taster morning at our school to meet students and try out a typical sixth form lesson.
You can download a copy of our sixth form prospectus here.
To apply to our sixth form download and complete the application form found here: BSG Sixth Form Application Form 2017-2019 (pdf). If you wish to complete a form electronically using word processing software then please download and complete the word copy of the application form found here: BSG Sixth Form Application Form 2017-2019 (docx). You should complete your application after you have done your mock exams, no later than 31st January 2017.
Return the completed form to your tutor or by post to the Sixth Form Admissions Secretary at Bournemouth School for Girls as soon as possible (full postal address can be found on our Contact Us page). Please note that applications received before January 31st will be used in forming the final subject blocks, unlike those received after that date.
All applicants will be contacted before Easter to confirm subject choices in relation to the timetable structure. Year 11 students not at BSG will be invited to visit the school for a meeting with the Headteacher to discuss their choices further and to find out more about the school. Parents are welcome to attend too. These meetings will be held in February / March and invitations will be by letter.
All applicants offered a place in the Sixth Form will be invited to an Induction Morning after GCSE examinations where you will meet your tutor and other members of your Tutor Group. You will also receive an Induction Pack which contains details of what to do after GCSE examination results are published in August 2017.
In the meantime … concentrate on your GCSE courses! Good luck.
