There are over 50 different extra-curricular clubs and activities in school, many of which are run by Sixth Form students. They are diverse and exciting: music, drama, sport, science, Fair Trade, enterprise projects, reading groups, Amnesty International and CCF to name a few. Sixth Formers are also invited to launch new clubs and activities – Model UN is now a new favourite amongst the students!
There are many visits in the UK to theatres, universities, field study centres and museums as well as cultural visits and ski trips abroad.
The House system gives students at BSG a real sense of community and belonging and the opportunity to take on new responsibilities. Every Sixth Form student belongs to one of six Houses. The House system provides many opportunities for students to work with younger pupils in the school, as well as to organise and support a range of House activities and events.
All sixth form are given the opportunity to enrol in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme at Gold level. This enables you to take part in a variety of activities, including a residential trip and also an expedition, as well as develop an array of skills. You can also join the Bournemouth School Combined Cadet Force which runs jointly between BS and BSG.
